Happy Easter!

Easter is the most important Christian Holiday. Easter celebrates Jesus Christ’s resurrection from the dead.

Easter is a very busy time of year! There is a lot to do to get ready for the holiday. Are you feeling overwhelmed and wondering how you are going to get it all accomplished?

Start by making lists. It might seem like an old fashion idea, but it works. If you create a list on your mobile device, you are more likely to have your list with you when you are out shopping.

What do you need to buy?
Clothes
Baskets
Candy
Plastic eggs
Toys, books
Craft supplies

What activities are you planning?
If you are coloring eggs-don’t forget the eggs! Plus you will need a dyeing kit and vinegar.
If you are having an egg hunt, you will need plastic eggs and the surprises that go inside the eggs.

Are you hosting a big family dinner?
Plan your menu ahead of time
Ask family members to bring a side dish or dessert
Do your food shopping 3-4 days ahead of the event
Do you need table linens

Hints for a successful Easter egg hunt
Use plastic eggs and assign a certain color to each child. This way the number of eggs found will be more evenly spread out among everyone.
Give younger kids a head start.
For children younger than two consider filling their eggs with age appropriate treats such as teddy grahams or fish crackers.
Before it’s time for the hunt, make sure you have enough baskets for everyone.

Jelly Bean Egg Poem
Fill plastic Easter eggs with one jelly bean of each color. As you read the poem, everyone opens up their egg and lines up the jelly beans according to the color that you mention. At the end of the poem, eat the jelly beans!

Red is for the blood He gave.
Green is for the grass He made.
Yellow is for the sun so bright.
Orange is for the edge of night.
Black is for the sins we made.
White is for the grace He gave.
Purple is for His hour of sorrow.
Pink is for our new tomorrow.
An egg full of jelly beans, Colorful and Sweet
Is a prayer, a promise, A loved one’s treat!!
