Women’s History Month was first recognized in 1981 as “Women’s History Week”. Beginning in 1995 and in each year since, the sitting president has annually proclaimed March to be “Women’s History Month”. Take the time this month to talk with your children about famous women in our country’s history. Pick out a few books and introduce them to heroes that maybe they have never heard about before now.
