Oh, the Places You’ll Go is the last of Dr. Seuss’s books to be published before his death. This final book is a treasure and entertaining for all; especially for those who are starting a new chapter in their lives. Do you have a child going to a new school? Or one who has decided to attempt something new; like a sport or hobby? Or maybe a child heading off to college? If you answered yes, then this book is for you. Sure, it’s a rather quirky gift for a high school senior but as they read it, they will be reminded of all of the new things they’ve already experienced in life. Some of those events were easy and fun; others, not so much. But all of their experiences have prepared them for their next step; whether it is college or a job. Of course, you can always sit them down and have them listen while you tell them all of this but they would probably like it better coming from Dr. Seuss. They know that he won’t be offended if they laugh.

After reading the book get out a floor puzzle of our country and have the whole family work together on it. As your working, you can reminisce about places you’ve been or dream about places you’d like to visit. You can even discuss plans for this year’s family vacation!
