The Bippolo Seed and Other Lost Stories
Feb 27th, 2013 | By Wendy | Category: Family Time, Featured Articles, Reviews & ResourcesThanks to the perseverance and detective work by Charles D. Cohen, this collection of little known stories by Dr. Seuss is now available to everyone. For grownups, who are Dr. Seuss fans, the most fascinating part of this book is the introduction. You will love reading about the history of each story, how it was discovered and the impact it had on his later more popular books. The introduction also gives us a glimpse into the theories that Dr. Seuss had concerning how to teach a child to read. He believed that a child learned more words from hearing than by seeing and set out to create books that were not only fun to look at but captivating to listen to as well. If you are skeptical that these newly discovered first works won’t live up to the standard of Dr. Seuss that you are used to, don’t be. You will not be disappointed in the quality of these stories.
